The Department of History, Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya and the Department of History, Sonari College signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two departments for academic, cultural, extra-curricular exchange programe, skill development, teachers and student exchange programe, outcome based training , placement and related services. Both the parties agreed to join hands and carry out works by faculty and students. Some of the programe initiates by both the parties are mentioned below:
a) Teacher Exchange Programme: The first step of MoU between the two parties began with the teacher exchange programme which was held in Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya on 13th February, 2023. Mr. Sushil Suri, HOD, History from Sonari College and Mr. Dibyajyoti Konwar, Assistant Professor, of History, Sonari College grace the presence in the programme. In the auspicious programe, Prof. Sushil Suri inaugurated the Wall Magazine Khoj of 2022-23 year. He also delivered a talk on Historiography which is highly acclaimed by all.
b) Inter-Institutional Student Seminar: A student seminar was organized jointly by both the party at Sonari College on 20th March, 2023. A total of seven papers were presented by the students of both the institutions. Dr. Roktim Pator of Gargaon College and Mr. Tridip Phukon of Sapekhati College participated as Resource Person for the seminar. Apart from our side Principal of Sonari College, Dr. Bimal Ch. Gogoi and other faculty members present to appreciate the students in their academic exercise.
c) Collaborative Field Study: As a continuation of MoU between the two parties a Collaborative Field Work was done on the topic “Socio- Cultural and Historical Relations in the Inter-state Border Areas of Assam and Nagaland” A hundreds of students from both the institutions joined in the field study on 10th November, 2023 of neighboring Mon District of Nagaland State.
