The department of Economics in Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya was started since its inception of the college and it got major concurrence from the Dibrugarh University in 1994-95. The department offers B.A. courses (Major & Minor) in Four Year Undergraduate programmes (FYUGP) as per NEP guidelines. The department has three full time experienced faculty members. Student seat capacity of the department is sixty (60). The department has an excellent tract record with students securing ranks in every final university examination. Students of the department are well placed in different fields of life. The department also publishes a wall magazine “Arthajyoti” annually and a printed magazine “Tejaswani”.
Vision & Mission
The mission of the department of economics is to develop broad understanding of economic principles, analytical tools, logical skills and their application to real world challenges and contribute to sustainable development. It will also provide a wide range of fascinating theoretical and applied concepts that will aid in their preparation for a range of economics related jobs in business, government, industry, commerce, finance and research. The objective of the department is to nurture among students a viewpoint of a socially and ethically aware citizen.
