Women Empowerment Through Literacy

About the Department

The Department of English at Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya has a rich history that dates back to the college's establishment in 1992. As one of the seven founding departments, it initially focused on imparting rudimentary communication skills in English and commercial correspondence. However, the scope of the curriculum expanded significantly in the Academic session, 2005-2006, with the introduction of major courses that incorporated literary studies. This shift marked a new era for the department, emphasising the importance of literary aspects alongside practical language skills, and reflecting a commitment to providing a comprehensive education in English literature and language.
