Department Regular Activities:
The department perform some student centric activities regularly for their acdemic as well as co-curricular excercise. They are as follows:
a) The Wall magazine -Khoj (A milestone of students’ excellence)
The department of History regularly publishes a wall magazine annually from 2011 onwards to develop the creative ability among the students.
b) Annual Journal –Borneel (An academic landmark for students’)
The day 4th September, 2013, for the first time a print magazine purely contributed by the students was published regularly. This literary exercise helps the students to develop independent thinking.
c) News Bulletin – Arohan
The department has its own newsletter which reflects the activities and important events of the department. It was first published in 2013-14.
d) The Photo Gallery – Romonthan
The department has a photo gallery since 2015. It is a humble attempt to memorise the annual important events and activities in a photo frame.
e) Hand written magazine –Otihya
For the students’ innovative and creative thinking, the department adopts another student centric activities of publish of a hand written magazine. It was first published in 2023.
f) The departmental Excursion and Field Visit:
The department every year organizes a field visit to a place of historical importance in which every student actively participated. The field work helps the students to gain eye experiences, learn with primary sources, encourages curiosity and systematic study.
g) Guardian Meet:
The department one of the important regular work is the meeting of parents and teachers of the department. The purpose of a guardian meeting is to create a space for communication between the college and the guardians and to help make teaching and learning more effective. The meeting discusses the student’s academic progress, discipline and behavior.
h) Community work and Extension programme:
The department carried out extension activities in the neighborhood areas for sensitizing students in social issues to make their holistic development. Awareness programme and meetings are organized on issues like health and hygiene, swachhata or cleanliness, help and aid during pandemic, taking classes in the nearby schools, sharing our views and interaction with the students to popularize History and other works entrusted to us.
