Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University was established under the provision of the Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University Act, 2005 enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly and published in the Assam Gazette dtd. 29/9/05 by the Govt. of Assam. Its study centre was initiated at Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya in May, 2012 with 48 students in its first batch. In the succeeding years, the enrolment rose up in the study centre thereby making us fortunate enough to reach the present level. Another achievement of this centre is to note that we have started Masters Programme in History, Political Science, Assamese, English, Economics, Sociology and Education in the year 2024. In January 2025 we have been alloted additional Masters Programme in MSW; Diploma in DY, DHRM, DSM, DCS, DCWE, DLIS, DPCS, DYK; and Certificate Programmes in CNM, CECE and ADA. A good number of students have enrolled in Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programmes under Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University in the current session at Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya study centre.
