The National Service Scheme(NSS) is a community service program in India established in 1969, which aims to develop students’ personality through community service and to foster social responsibility and civic engagement. Moreover it focuses on promoting national integration and cohesion.
To realise these aims of community service and to promote national integration, the NSS Unit of Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya was shaped in 2016 under the aegis of affiliating Dibrugarh University NSS unit with a strength of 100 volunteers. Presently the unit consists of 110 volunteers.
Vision
The vision is to develop the youth with a spirit and mind to serve the society and to ascertain the needs and problems of the community and involve in problem-solving skills.
Mission
The motto of NSS “Not Me but You” inspires the youth to work for the community and the social upliftment of the nation. It also helps the students to develop their appreciation skills to others’ point of view and show consideration to others’ beings. In addition to this, the NSS aims in developing a sense of social and civic responsibility, acquiring leadership qualities and democratic attitudes and practicing national integration and unity.
