Observation of CHATRA DIVAS on the Birth Anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma
The Department of Political Science, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya, observed Chatra Divas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma. An inter-departmental debate competition was organized on this occasion in the college conference hall on 1st April, 2025.
The inaugural session was hosted by Ms. Jonmani Sonwal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science. The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Tarun Gogoi, Principal of Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya, who delivered an enlightening speech on the life, philosophy, and contributions of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.
The topic of the debate was “Only regional politics will secure the future of Assam.” The competition was chaired by Mr. Arun Baruah, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science. A total of 14 students from seven departments participated in the debate, showcasing their perspectives and debating skills with great enthusiasm.
An awards ceremony was held in the evening to recognize the participants and winners. Ms. Joyshree Phukon, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, and Ms. Bonti Chutia, Assistant Librarian, shared their remarks and appreciated the quality of the debate and the relevance of the topic.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Arun Baruah, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the faculties, judges, and students for their valuable presence and support in making the event a success.
